The government isn't giving "the rich" more money, they are lowering taxes for successful Americans and American business.  I don't think you understand what tax cuts are. Thinking that raising taxes on the producers in this country will help is insane.

 

Taxes in the 90's?  Like the ones that were part of the recession from the 90's?  And who cares who Bill Gates supports?  Communists support Obama, maybe that should tell you something.

 

Can an Obama supporter go through a post without using "change"?  How is the messiah going to lower the deficit if he is proposing billions and billions in new government spending?  Notice he doesn't talk about that much.  The "economic stress" in this country is due to people spending more than they make.  We don't need a nanny government to take care of our every single need.

But then again, we are talking about Obama who has never accomlished anything.

Palin hit the nail on the head when she said some are advancing their careers on promoting change.  What change?  Obama hasn't shown us any change even with his very first decision of President wannabe. 

 

If elections were decided solely on the quality & style of speech delivery, Dewey, Stevenson and Goldwater (especially Goldwater) would be former Presidents.

The only modern era Presidents who were really good speechmakers were Kennedy & Reagan.  Kennedy won largely because the media fell in love with his style (they were much more influential then) & Mayor Daly fell in love with his dad's money.  Reagan the campaigner was derided by the media, but he served up the content of his message so well that the media couldn't undermine him; there was a lot of real meat message in all that flowery rhetoric and a sincerity that was genuine.

Obama is a skilled orator with a one-note message (Change!, especially Nuanced Change!) and fake sincerity (otherwise known as arrogance), so don't pin your hopes on his 'skill' as a speechmaker.

This is the tack that Obama & his supporters have been hammering on, obviously, but I don't think the McSame label is going to stick.  McCain, of all the Republicans, is about the only one who could believably acknowledge that the party had strayed from its principals and needed to return to its core values & behavior.  The Contract With America was a very powerful & effective concept; had the Republicans not left it in the dust, things might be a lot different about now.  There is also a good chance that McCain's values are more closely aligned with those of the majority of Americans than Obama's values are.  When Obama calls for a windfall profits tax on the Hollywood movie studios' record profits from this summer, I may take him more seriously.

Obama quoted this fact saying that we can't take a 10% chance that things are going to change.  The fact is that Obama has voted in line with the do-nothing Democratice party leaders in Washington 97% of the time.  Democrats have had a majority in both Congress and Senate for the last few years and have accomplished little more than declaring National Watermelon Month when there are so many issues that really need addressed.  McCain and Palin have both done things in office that effective positive change, Obama has not.  Obama and Biden have also been ranked even more Liberal than the self-proclaimed socialist from Vermont.  If you like socialist values, don't vote, move to a socialist country to see what it's really like first, don't ruin this country for the rest of us!

We need to be more concerned with the actions, not the words anyhow.  It's not what you say that matters in the long run.  It's what you do that matters. 

Like I said on my blog....."Don't sing me no Song.  Don't read me no rhyme.  Don't waste my time.  Show me!" 

MCCain  may not be all that flowery in his speech but his talk is straight up.  He is much more believeable than Obama by a long shot. 

So the question is would you rather have a President who seems to speak well and look good in a three piece suit, or would you like a man who will get the job done and listens to the voice of the people? 

 

 

 

I agree 100%.  It's time for a change from the Reid/Pelosi do nothing congress.  Oh I forgot we did get to see Roger Clemens testify.  That was an extremely important use our congress's time and resources.  There certainly weren't any more pressing issues to be addressed!!!   Maybe you need to do some research on who actually passes the laws.  hint - it's not the President. 

um...served our country in the House and Senate?  Seriously, this is your argument?  Believe me you can't win the experience argument in the McCain v. Obama race. 

  How exactly does anyone vote with Bush?  Bush doesn't vote in the senate or the house.  Bush has the veto power.  This whole argument is ridiculous.  Does Bush come out on every vote and say "if I could vote this is how I would vote" then McCain votes that way!?!  Ridiculous. 

  Neither is Obama.  Obama might be able to give good teleprompter but I guarantee you that he will not hold up to McCain in a debate.  Obama sure backed off his name the time and place for the debates pretty quickly.  I actually care more about the substance of what is being said than the delivery.

I agree ID, it just goes to show you the left thinks any money earned is their's to do want they wish with it. Where do they think the "government money" comes from? Do they think the rich say "tax me more, so you can give it back to me".

I personally don't care too much f the candidate spoke like Elmer Fudd (Sure the media would have a field day, more so if he/she were a republican) as long as they are competent and have a clue (ie. experiance). The candidate is not being hired by the people to make speeches, if they can good but it shouldn't be the deal maker. Be more afraid of a smooth talker, telling you what you (and everyone else) what he/she thinks you want to hear. Your bottle of snake oil will be right up
