Kill 'em all and let god sort it out!

This week's Smallville was pretty good. Acknowledging the "freak of the week" concept, the show introduced a vigilante who is out to kill all the meteor freaks before they can do anything.

When Clark saves Lex Luthor, now identified as a meteor freak himself due to unnaturally good health, the freak executioner learns Clark's vulnerability after a scuffle brings causes some kryptonite to fall out of the killer's backpack.

Armed with this knowledge, the killer makes kryptonite bullets and provides one of the best special effects of the series -- a slow motion shot in which Clark clearly expecting to swat it away is shocked to see it go right through his hand (blood burst and all) and into his shoulder.

The episode ends with Lana and Clark taking care of this guy and handing him to the police.

Ironic moment of the week: Lana getting on Clark's case for accidentally killing Tina Grier. Hello? Lana? Didn't you JUST accidentally kill someone LAST week? Miss Short Term Memory.

What was interesting to me is that I think this episode is a turning point for Lex. Now he believe's he's special. I.e. getting a super natural god complex perhaps. We also saw Lionel Luthor sink his clutches deeper into Chloe.

Next week's preview shows what is clearly a dream sequence with Lana and Clark skinny dipping. Ironically, if you talk to most fans they would prefer Clark and Chloe.

I'd give this episode an 8 out of 10.
