What ever happened to that Pete guy?

New people move next door to Kent's. An adult man and a teenage daughter who has been in coma for like 6 years. Somehow though she is able to get into Clark's dreams. Turns out the uncle was drugging her to stay her guardian so that he could control the estate. Not a bad plot.

A few things though. First, where is Pete Ross? Remember him? The kid who knows Clark's secret? You'd think he and Clark would do investigating together. Nope, doesn't even occur to Clark. Instead, he and Lana investigate what's going on next door since Chloe is too busy with other assignments.

In one surreal incident, Clark gets into a serious truck accident which Lana and the Kents discover and for some reason, Lana isn't terribly shocked that Clark is totally unscathed. Of course, by now she must suspect something but surely you'd think she'd have brought it up more.

Not a bad episode, not a great episode. I would give it 6 out of 10. One beef is the formulaic style of Smallville is getting on my nerves. It's always Lana and Clark having some melodramatic talk at the end of each episode. We don't care. I like the show much better as a Buffy the vampire slayer type show where Clark is Buffy and the others are the Scoobies who aren't really fully aware of his origins. Ah well.
